Gov’t the worst criminal
Dear Editor,
I am writing to express my vehement disgust with both parties. They have failed the people of Jamaica miserably, in their selfish pursuits to acquire power and wealth. They have sunk the country into a pit and have caused evil to come upon us. They have led us to a state of degradation and disrepute – the worst state in the history of Jamaica – that now seems impossible to be amended.
What is worse about the whole situation is that they fail to see the truth, they are all blinded to the fact, even to this point where the country is now suffering, not only from the high cost of living but from crime and violence, also due to their lack of integrity. Both parties are still competing for power even at this very moment. The craving for power and wealth has blinded their eyes to fulfilling their purpose in government. Their focus has been shifted from building a better society to getting power, and so it doesn’t matter to what extent they have to go even if it means illegalities are involved. Thus leading us to one conclusion: “Government is the most wanted criminal in Jamaica”.
Many have said that the corruption in government has caused an escalation of crimes within the country (the main root for most of the crimes committed). And we see where often our ministers of government have been involved in illicit activities. We give them our trust and this is how they repay us, with lack of respect and indignity. And what examples are they setting as leaders?
It is time for both parties to open their blind eyes and their hearts and feel the hurt and pain they have caused us, and repent of their sins – to God first and then to us, for whatever is done in the dark must come to light. They should repent and turn from their evil ways. Before they cause any further damage to our country and before things get more out of control than they already have.
