Look to the future
Dear Editor,
Much has been said about the whole affair regarding Dudus and Manatt, Phelps and Phiilips.
Throughout all this, I have been watching closely the actions of the Opposition, and I have concluded that they and all the other entities have not been deliberately exaggerating the issue at hand. When the various representatives of the Golding administration speak to us, I do believe that they too (as it is their opinion that the great big USA does) take us Third-World citizens of this beautiful island of Jamaica for dunces!
I too believe that the issue should not be closed or laid to rest before the full truth has been told. Action speaks louder than words.
OK, Mr PM, you have apologised, but remember apology and repentance work together, you cannot have one without the other and remain as an honest person with integrity – and walk according to the mandates of our Lord God.
We need to unite as a nation and end corruption and crime. But, how will this happen? Only through the active and genuine intervention of the two major parties that govern our country, the church, all other interested social groups and every other jack man living in this country. Are we going to play our roles?
Let us therefore move to put an end quickly to this and other questionable matters in the most transparent way, after which we should promise ourselves to forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of Jamaica’s future!
A Johnson
