Put to rest Manatt, Phelps and Phillips affair
Dear Editor,
The Manatt, Phelps and Phillips issue will not bring dark days for Jamaica. Jamaica is too blessed to have dark days ahead.
We have the best politicians in the world and the country is growing in so many ways.
When a government is in office and things like this happen, politics must be put aside and focus put on the people. The Manatt, Phelps and Phillips affair must now be put to rest and allow unity to take over the nation’s Parliament.
Calls are being made for Prime Minister Bruce Golding to resign. That is not the answer at this time when our nation is faced with a lot of problems resulting from the global crisis.
What the Opposition and other interest groups must do is to work with the government to have a stronger economy, so that more of our nation’s children can come out of school literate for the country to have more professionals, and not monsters of crime, murder and abduction.
It was good of the prime minister to put the matter on the table of Parliament, for the nation to know that he and his party are not hiding anything from the country.
Governments come and go every five years in Jamaica, and everyone has something to leave whether it is good or bad, but let’s not look in that direction at this time. Jamaica needs unity and love.
I am calling on the Prime Minister, the Leader of the House of Representatives and the Speaker not to allow this matter to continue in the House anymore. It is time for the people to hear more on the sectoral debate for the 2010-2011 budget. Let us all pray for good for Jamaica and give God thanks for what we have as a nation.
