Allow us to grow up
Dear Editor,
Why are we killing our children? The murder of five-year-old Christiana Salmon is horrible, and injuring her older sister and father is just as terrible.
The children of today are the future of tomorrow. If we continue to kill and brutalise our future, will there be any children left? Children are crying out every day for love and protection, and yet their lives have been cut short.
This is the voice of a child. If you can hear it from me, please take heed.
I am asking the government to pay special attention to the protection of the children and the police to catch the people who are hurting us the children. I am asking the churches, schools, parents and relatives to protect children, not only because they are our future but because you love us.
We are in the month of May – Child Month – and the motto for the month’s activities is “Let me have a chance to grow up”. This simply means that some children are not able to have a chance to grow up or to have a happy life.
So, everyone, please give us a chance – love us, protect us and let us grow up.
