Audrey Chin to speak on retirement at Corporate Mingle tonight
Audrey Chin, Senior Vice President, Business Development and Client Management at NCB Insurance Company Limited, is tonight’s Guest speaker at the third staging of Corporate Mingle for 2010. The event takes place from 6:00 – 10:00 this evening at the Fiction Lounge, Market Place on Constant Spring Road.
This staging of Corporate Mingle…networking with a purpose, will be sponsored by NCB Insurance Company’s Smart retirement Plan, and being consistent with that theme, Audrey Chin will examine the topic, ‘Retirement and the Entrepreneur.’
Females across the globe celebrated International Women’s Day in recognition of the gender’s economic, political and social achievements. The Jamaica Observer Sunday Finance showed appreciation to Jamaican women who have made significant inroads in the field of business and who we all look upon as inspirational figures. Chin was in the top ten.
Over the past 17 years, she has held several senior management positions in the financial industry providing investment advisory and portfolio management services to a wide range of corporate and individual clients.
Since the passage of the Pensions Act in 2004 she has been integrally involved in the transition process to ensure compliance of the NCBIC Pensions Unit with the new regulatory requirements.
More recently, she served on the Technical Committee of the Ministry of Finance which had responsibility for developing the framework for the Phase 2 Pensions Reform Regulations.
Prior to joining NCB, she held several positions including:
– Research Economist at the JIDC
– Audit supervisor at Deloitte & Touche
– Managing Director Lasco Foods
– Vice President Marketing/Sigma Investment & Manufacturers Sigma Merchant Bank
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Chin holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics, Master of Science in Accounting and a Masters in Business specialising in Marketing.
She is a Director of the CHASE Fund, The Cultural Advisory Council at UTECH, and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board at Mona School of Business.
She is also a Trustee of Winston Roberts Foundation and a member of the Board of Management of Ardenne High School.
