Peter Lloyd Launches ‘Yutes Rise’ Upliftment Programme
It’s often said thatchildren are the future and we must raise them with virtue and respect, so that we can build a better nation for all. With this is the mind, multi-talented actor/singer and songwriter Peter Lloyd decided to create ‘Yutes Rise’.
Yutes Rise is an upliftment programme that is aimed at injecting positive influences among the Jamaican youths while helping to mold them as future leaders. Last Friday Peter Lloyd, accompanied by members of his management team, kicked off the first instalment of the project at the Newell High School in St Elizabeth. From the moment students found out he was on the school premises the air was filled with excitement.
After delivering a scintillating performance, interspersed with positive messages of encouragement, Lloyd had to be rushed off stage by security personnel to the teachers’ quarters, away from the hoards of screaming students who would stop at nothing to get close to the entertainer. His visit ended with an hour-long photo op and autograph session with teachers and members of the student body.
According to Lloyd, “It was a great experience and it’s always better when you not just entertain, but impart knowledge, that makes your effort even more rewarding. With that said I would like to thank everyone who played an integral role in this project.”
Since the end of the first leg of the tour, the feedback from corporate entities has been tremendous with many looking to come on board. They are now in dialogue with the Reggae singer and his team.
Peter Lloyd, who last week released Mood 4 Luv, his second single for the year, recently received more great news from his management team as his single Searching has finally clinched the number one spot on the New York Top 30 Reggae Charts after spending 13 weeks on the chart and nabbing a similar position on the South Florida Reggae Charts two weeks earlier.
