Wayne Lonesome comes to ‘run tings’ with Lightning Volt
The owner of Run Tings Records, producer, recording artiste and promoter, Wayne Lonesome will be dropping 12 new singles which he predicted will run things in the dancehall beginning this summer.
He will be flashing his latest creations on his newly crafted Lightning Volt Rhythm on which he will spearhead a slew of fresh acts some a second generation with famous musical antecedents as well as a few veterans.
They include his son, Swayne Lonesome, Junior Cat, smaller brother to veteran deejay Super Cat, Chaka Demus and his son Marvellous, Pliers, Mr Melody, Quench Aid, Singing Bird, Warrior General, Jahir, Don Martin and Mystery.
In the early 80s Wayne Lonesome started his musical career on sound system in his community of Rockfort in east Kingston where he was born and grew up. In 1986 he recorded his first single followed by a host of other singles and albums on various recording labels.
In 1992 he formed his own record label Run Tings Records followed by two other labels, Earth Don and Excel and produced his own music plus that of other top artistes including the cool ruler Gregory Isaacs, Yami Bolo, Louie Culture, Luciano, Daddy Screw, Pinchers, Ninjaman, Red Dragon, Trilla U, King Kong, Jahmali, Torch, Junior Cat, Quench Aid, General B and others.
“A from in the 80s we start deejay pon sound system all over Jamaica. In the 80s, you have Junior Chaplin who changed hid name to Lambogenie. Me and him do album and tings, we were the Untouchables,” recalled the music entrepreneur.
Speaking about his project the Lightning Volt Rhythm, he predicted, “The tunes on the rhythm a goh sell off…so who nuh hear it yet have fi look out fi this rhythm, this rhythm a goh tek di dancehall if di summer big time.”
