Today we will be looking at the Job Title: Archaeologist
An archaeologist is a person who studies the records and remains of ancient artifacts, civilisations and cultures to determine their origin, age and identity.
For one to become an archaeologist it is required that they have passes in the following subjects leaving high school: English language and mathematics, geography, history, information technology and social studies. Along with the subjects mentioned above another requirement is a PhD in archaeology, geography or geology. The outlook demand for this career type is also growing.
To be successful at this career one must be able to work under pressure and make important decisions. One must be willing to work flexible and odd hours. You should also possess excellent oral and written communication skills and also have good interpersonal and human relation skills. One must be good at analysing information. Just to let you know the job is physically challenging and it involves moderate to extensive on-the-job travelling. An archaeologist is required to be also good at organisational skills and pay attention to details. One should also be willing to work in unpleasant and hazardous environments and also possess effective management and leadership skills.
Persons that are looking at choosing this career can get jobs in the universities, local and central government departments and museums.
