If like us you’ve had burger cravings — a result perhaps of overdosing on vegetables for the Lenten season — you might wish to share our notes on what’s out there and the cost of satisfying one’s cravings.
Susie’s Gourmet Chopped House Burger
Susie’s Bakery & Coffee Shop, located at Southdale Plaza, might be well known for its truly cosy setting, unparalleled service, great-tasting sandwiches, quiches, salads, pastries and breads, but it seems the burgers, notably Susie’s Gourmet Chop House Burgers, are in high demand. For $1,500 (inclusive of taxes) patrons can enjoy: burger, topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, bacon and cheese, served on a sesame seed bun with French fries and pickles.
Island Grill’s Jerk Burger
Island Grill’s jerk burger, with cheese, tomato and lettuce, lies between white buns and is served with fries for a cost of $375 (please note that it comes without a beverage).
Customer secret: A couple slices of sweet plantains make the jerk that much sweeter.

The tag line speaks to: Come for the food… Stay for the Fun!!! And many seem to agree. The cheesy burger (well done), topped with bacon, tomato, lettuce, pickles and French fries, is visually appealing and filling.
