Sweet R&B
Having spent three years away from Curphey Place, Mainsource Entertainment, the promoters of Rhythm and Booze, took the trip back to the Swallowfield community to stage what turned out to be a night of fun and frolic. When asked why they decided to return to Curphey Place, promoter Julius Morgan stated that it was accessible and they wanted to bring it back for their patrons who missed the good old days at Curphey Place.
Julius also stated that they’ve never normally had a problem with their event being hounded by the police. This turned out to be true on that night as the officers who were present allowed the event to go on long enough for everyone to admit they had a great time.
If you had no idea what party you were at, it was evident as soon as you entered. The decor of the venue was well done as the promoters sought to make their patrons feel welcome. One could tell that the promoters gave much thought to security because the event was heavily guarded thanks to Guardsman. It was a well-anticipated event and although it was not packed to capacity, patrons came out in their numbers to fully bask in all that Mainsource had to offer. The vibe of the party was great. Patrons could move about without any hassle and if they needed to quench their thirst it was the same.
No party can be successful without great music and R&B had just that. With the musical stylings of Jazzy T from Renaissance, ZJ Chrome, X Factor and Chris Diamond from Code Red patrons were on their feet all night gyrating and doing the latest moves. There was not a single person standing bored, as the disc jockeys did a fine job at entertaining their crowd. At the end of the night, R&B earned the thumbs up from TEENage for providing great music and a great vibe.
