Needs help to start business
Dear Editor,
I am appealing for financial assistance to start a restaurant – a small venture. For while I am seeking a loan from the Jamaica Business Development Corporation to kick-start the restaurant, I am afraid that if I do not get the loan, the restaurant doors will still be open.
I had applied earlier for a loan from a small financial institution and was told at the last minute that they had no money to lend. And during this time, I had paid the landlady for two months rent in the hope of starting the business with the loan I was expecting from that financial institution.
I had also gone to another small lending institution which has approved an amount that could start my business, but I failed to secure a guarantor who is earning not less than $40,000 per month and working for at least two years.
The restaurant is at an excellent location with great prospects of financial prosperity and is registered with the Companies Offices of Jamaica.
And I am not seeking lots of money to start the operation. I could start the business with $60,000.
Over time, I am aiming to move into baked products while keeping the restaurant. These baked products would be distributed to supermarkets, wholesalers, etc, based on the large space at the restaurant.
Mark you, this restaurant could provide employment for close to six people and undoubtedly will have a positive impact on the economy.
So in light of the financial challenges I am facing in starting my restaurant, I am appealing to a Good Samaritan to help me so that I can help others.
