14 & under tennis team departs today for Trinidad
Jamaica’s 14 & under tennis teams head off today for Trinidad where they will be competing in the World Junior Tennis North/Central America & Caribbean Qualifying competition from next Monday through Sunday, April 4.
Jamaica’s teams consist of Nia Rose, Shaddae Findley, Michaelann Denton, and non-playing captain/coach Lisa Chin for the girls, and Andrew Bicknell, Simon Levy, Dylan Levy and non-playing captain/coach Peter ‘Packa’ Berry for the boys.
The boys will be competing along with 17 other countries from the Central American & Caribbean Region, namely Aruba, Antigua & Barbuda, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Bahamas, Barbados, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Netherlands Antilles, Guyana, Nicaragua, Panama, Puerto Rico and Trinidad, while the girls will compete with the same teams except for Antigua, Grenada and Nicaragua.
The World Junior Tennis is the 14 & under team competition administered worldwide by the ITF.
The top finishers from the North Central America & Caribbean Qualifying Competition, qualifying for the final qualifying round with the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
