Bethlehem, Smithfield win in Malvern league
MALVERN, St Elizabeth — Bethlehem Moravian College (BMC) hammered Roseberry 5-1, thanks to a brace from Marlon Miller, as the Malvern Football League continued last weekend.
Kemar Blackwood in the 15th minute, Aberdeen Mitchell (19th) and Aundre Campbell (46th) also scored for dominant Bethlehem.
Roseberry’s consolation came in the 25th through Richard Barrett. Miller put the topping on the cake with goals in the 85th and 90th.
BMC’s Marlon Hylton was happy with his team’s performance as well as the result, while Roseberry’s Dwayne Williams said, “We need to go back to the drawing board”.
In the second match of a double-header, Timothy Haywood’s unstoppable shot in the 85th minute gave Smithfield a 1-0 win over Schoolfield.
“It was a very competitive game; I’m happy we won,” said Horace Henry, coach of Smithfield.
“Very good game; we got chances, but didn’t score” said Schoolfield’s Gregory Clacken.
