Juniors FC, Westgreen meet today
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Early leaders Juniors FC and Westgreen will meet in the featured Zone A game today as the St James Claro Division One competition resumes.
Both teams are among four that are tied for the lead in Zone A on three points after wins last week before the league took a two-day break due to the shooting death of referee Andre Gayle, forcing the postponement of Friday’s games.
The other two, Copperwood and Juniors FC will also be in action as well as Zone B leaders Montego Bay Boys Club.
Westgreen have played two games to Juniors’ one as they rebounded from an opening day 1-3 loss to Rosemount to beat neighbours Little Miami 2-1 last week.
Juniors opened their account with a 1-0 margin over Rosemount and will be one of three teams seeking to stay perfect today .
Copperwood, who beat Upsetters 2-0, will face Little Miami at Westgreen, while in Zone B, Boys Club will play away to Seaview.
Boys Club won their opening game 2-0 over Marl Road, while Seaview took a point from a draw to promoted Reggae Youths.
Rosemount will seek to get back on winning ways when they face Upsetters at Tucker; while Defenders and Marl Road will both be seeking their first win when they meet at UDC. Champion and Reggae Youths will be at Sam Sharpe Teachers College grounds.
