WELCOME to week three of Career Walk. TEENage hopes that the last two career options gave you lots to consider. There are many career options that are available all over the world, however, you must be guided by what you really love and want to do.
The career choice you choose should be of interest to you so that you can excel at it.

Physical Therapist
TEENage wishes to share knowledge about this career with you. With the start of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships today, physical therapy is an appropriate choice.
A physical therapist is one who administers exercises and treatment to restore strength and flexibility to injured limbs.
For one to become a physical therapist, it is required that they have passes in the following subject areas: physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, English language and mathematics. The income is average, but along with the subjects mentioned above one must also have a Diploma/Bachelor of Science (Bachelors of Science) in physical therapy or physiotherapy.
To be successful at this career one must be able to work under pressure and make important decisions. One should possess excellent writing and oral skills and also have good interpersonal and human relations skills. One should be willing to work flexible hours. The job is physically demanding but with great determination and a passion to help people, the challenge will not be so hectic. Interested persons should have good analytical skills. You should be able to pay keen attention to details and possess good organisational skills.
If you take this career path, you can get jobs at the Ministry of Health, private hospitals, health-care facilities and in a lucrative private practice. If you are interested in this career you could just start working at it from now and you could be the next physiotherapist to help our injured athletes who continue to shine for our island.
