Wrong!
Dear Editor,
I fail to understand what Mr Wignall meant when he wrote about biting the hand that feeds in Wignall’s World on March 14.
I know that America has helped Jamaica in many ways and continues to do so, and we are grateful for the help that they have given and continue to give to us. But I don’t believe that because someone has been kind to you, that gives the person the right to do as they please with you.
If that is so, then America is no better than the dons who have given financial help to a family, then turn around and tell that person to send their young daughter to him, and when that person refuses the family has to leave the community or face the consequences.
This is not a case of biting the hand that feeds, it is wrong and must be discouraged. We are a sovereign nation and we have laws that we abide by. We have respect for other countries’ laws. Other countries are to respect ours too.
