Dear Editor,
Thank you for carrying the piece in the Sunday Observer of March 21 on women pilots. I was full of pride and my body became covered with goose pimples as I read the story. It made me very sad to think I may never have the privilege of travelling with these awesome pilots again on Air Jamaica.
Ziadie-Haddad and Marlene Smith would tell us of the route they would use to take us home to Jamaica as we settled on a flight. This was truly comforting. I have travelled many times with them on my journey home.
I wish the very best for all our pilots, the terrific air hostesses, maintenance staff and all others who worked for Air Jamaica who made our flights so comfortable.
Not only did they soar to new heights daily, but became perhaps the worlds safest airline. What a record! Godspeed, my friends.
