W’House on fire in U-21 League

TEN-MAN Waterhouse defeated 10-man Arnett Gardens 4-1 in a JFF Under-21 match at Drewsland on Friday and continue to share with Harbour View a tenuous lead on 60 points.
Leading marksman De Andre Brown gave Waterhouse the lead, with his 13th goal of the campaign, in the ninth minute. Andre Clennon increased the lead in the 73rd, followed by second-half substitutes Adrian King in the 80th and Darren Mattocks in the 90th.
The game, which was neither rough nor pretty to watch, saw both teams going down to 10 players after 65 minutes. Waterhouse defender Theo Brown was the first to go after picking up a second yellow card in minute 62 for stomping on an opponent.
Three minutes later, Kemar Douglas of Arnett Gardens vented his disgust with a refereeing decision by Oneal Clayton with foul and abusive language and he, too, was sent packing.
Up until the cards were issued, the game was still an open affair, although Waterhouse held a slim advantage after Brown gave them the lead with an excellent free-kick from 28 yards.
Arnett, though lacking the firepower and stature of the Waterhouse team, held the hosts to their slim advantage with good defensive play and every now and then kept reminding goalkeeper Kelso Cousins that he was much more than a spectator with a few good strikes from right-sided attacks.
But they fell away badly in the second half following the expulsion of Douglas and capitulated, leaving goalkeeper Nicholas Anderson at the mercy of the Waterhouse forwards, who scored three out of a possible seven goals during the final 30 minutes.
Arnett themselves should have equalised two minutes after losing Douglas, but second-half substitute Sherman Johnson muffed a chance with an open goal to compound their misery.
