Steele among acts for Int’l Kite Festival
CANADIAN reggae singer Steele will make his return to the Jamaican stage as a part of the line-up for the 2010 Jamaica International Kite Festival, scheduled for April 5 in Ocho Rios, St Ann.
Steele, who has just received two nominations from the Reggae Music Achievement Awards — Best Reggae Album/CD of the Year for his latest release The Man The Music, and Artiste of the Year — will join a host of other acts including Shaggy, Junior Reid, and Beenie Man, at this family friendly affair.
Steele’s cover version of Al Green’s Let’s Stay Together has been enjoying good radio rotation in Jamaica and the people are now primed to see him perform once again.
Born in Lucea, Hanover, Steele attended both the Ruseas High School in Lucea, and the Herbert Morrison Comprehensive High school in Montego Bay where his development as an artiste began.
To date, he has released three CDs which have yielded hit songs, among them New World with Queen Ifrica, What’s Wrong Wid Wi with George Nooks, Jah is my Strength, Ghetto Woman, Slave Driver and Another Confrontation.
