Excellent, Keeble
Dear Editor,
I wish to thank Mr Keeble McFarlane for the brilliant articles he writes for the Jamaica Observer. In fact, I think his column should be moved to the Sunday paper where I am sure the readership is wider.
Although I enjoy his columns weekly and meant to write a long time ago, his piece on Latin resonated with me. I attended Kingston College 1980-1982 for the 6th Form and still marvel at the great institution created by Bishop Gibson. I think he chose our motto to spur young men to greatness. I have also seen but never spoken to Mr Crick but all “older” old boys speak highly of him and the work he did. I think Mr Crick’s legacy is that he awoke scholarship in many without them realising. Throughout my career in biology I have regretted not having formal training in Latin which would have made my life much easier.
Keep up the good work, Keeble, and I look forward to more great articles.
