Support brand Jamaica
Dear Editor,
I read with interest the column by Mark Wignall last Sunday in The Agenda, where he reinforces the need to boost the citrus industry in Jamaica. He also addresses the importance of seeking markets locally and internationally.
If and when efforts are made to revive our citrus industry, we are bound to create a positive domino effect. A thriving citrus industry means that farmers, drivers, processors and many more parties will be gainfully employed, instilling pride in our consumers as it relates to brand Jamaica.
For too long we have ignored and have failed to acknowledge and support local, high-quality products. Let us all as Jamaicans play our part in building our economy by simply supporting our local products.
