Wood Hall outscore Original Hazard in South Central U-20
CHAPELTON, Clarendon — Monymusk FC had a less than favourable start to the defence of the South Central Confederation Under-20 title, as they had to come-from-behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw against Hillstars at Cobbla on Saturday.
Jason Henry (19th minute) sent Hillstars in to the half-time break with a 1-0 lead, before Tyrone Titus (46th) drew Monymusk level a minute after the restart.
Oniel Clark then restored Hillstars’ one-goal cushion in the 60th, but the title-holders fought back for a share of the spoils when Titus grabbed his brace in the 80th.
The round’s lone victory came from Group A, where Wood Hall outscored Original Hazard 3-2 at the Turners Oval in the Clarendon derby. Lloyd Rhoden, Orville Williams and Kevin Campbell netted for Wood Hall.
At the Lacovia Community Centre, Tafari Lions gave up a goal nine minutes from time, as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Naggo Head in another Group A game.
Denval Wright shot Tafari Lions into the lead in the eighth minute of play, but a minute later Tinobez Gregory levelled for the visitors.
Tafari Lions regained the lead in the 41st minute through Alex Graham, but could not hold their nerves as Roshaun Ralph broke their hearts with 81st-minute goal for Naggo Head.
In the other Group B encounter, Meadows needed an 84th minute strike from Tyhilie Gordon to eke out a 1-1 draw with Bodles in the St Catherine derby at Bodles. Gavin Lee (35th) had earlier given Bodles the lead.
Meanwhile, in lone Super League game, Naggo Head (21st) moved within a point of leaders Tru-Juice (22nd) in Group A, following their narrow 2-1 win over Tafari Lions at the Lacovia Community Centre.
