Supreme Ventures makes changes to Super Lotto
Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL), in an attempt to attract more players to the Super Lotto, has revamped the multijurisdictional lottery game to now include a lower price option on tickets and more opportunities to win the lower tier prizes.
Since its first draw on August 28, 2009, someone has yet to win the jackpot of the Super Lotto, which is played across seven Caribbean countries. However, with the odds to win the jackpot at one in 11 million, it shouldn’t have come as a real surprise.
Against this background, SVL said it collaborated with technology partner GTECH in a post-launch research and evaluation of the Super Lotto game.
Sonia Davidson, SVL’s Vice President of Group Corporate Communications said “We have listened and now here’s our response. Some exciting changes have been made to the Super Lotto game in line with feedback from the public that we believe will attract more players.”
A regular Super Lotto ticket costs $250 in Jamaica, five times the present amount charged for the local Lotto. However, Davidson said, customers will now have the option of purchasing a Super Lotto ticket for $150, as well as the current price of $250.
According to SVL, for a $150 wager, the customer will win a share of the advertised jackpot, but with a $250 wager the customer will be able to win the entire jackpot or a bigger share of the advertised jackpot.
“Should there be a winner from a $150 ticket and another from a $250 ticket, then the jackpot will be shared amongst both winners but not equally. The person with the $250 ticket will always get the larger portion of the Jackpot. If there is only one winner who purchased a $250 ticket then that winner will get the entire advertised jackpot and if there is only one winner for a $150 ticket purchase, then that person will get a share of the advertised jackpot,” said SVL in a release.
According to SVL, there are also now new ways in which to win the lower tier prizes. These prizes now come with a guaranteed payout for each tier. The guaranteed prizes apply to each draw.
SVL has introduced three additional opportunities for matching numbers to win the lower tier prizes.
“These additional prize levels are: Match 2 + Super Ball; Match 1 + Super Ball and Match the Super Ball only,” said SVL in the release, adding that “These are in addition to the opportunities that currently exist which are: Matching 3, 4 and 5 with or without the Super Ball.”
The gaming company said that new Bet Slips will also be issued to the market, with the modification to include the two price options, that is, $150 and $250.
