No, Bruce!
Dear Editor,
I must congratulate you on an excellent editorial in the March 4 edition of your paper, ” No man is (worth) an island”. It should have been placed on the front page to give it more oomph. You have said it best that this unprecedented vacillation by the prime minister is simply foolhardy. I can’t help but wonder what is his interest in this routine extradition request that he is willing to put his neck on the block for Christopher “Dudus” Coke.
Mr Golding is willing to sacrifice political life and limb and good international relations, and indeed the welfare of Jamaica for the protection of this one man. Not to say that one person is not important, but he should allow justice to take its course and give the man his day in court. Mr Golding is behaving as if he has no faith in the judiciary and thus is taking matters in his own hands. We hope that good sense will prevail and that he will see that he must always act for the greater good of the country in all instances.
