Swift Cash celebrating 10 years
FEBRUARY 2010 marked a significant milestone for Swift Cash Money Transfer, the brainchild of founder Philip Jackson, who through his very successful shipping business in the UK and Jamaica saw the synergy between shipping personal effects to Jamaica and providing a remittance service to customers.
“The journey has been long and tedious with many changes and challenges over the years to include a regulated remittance industry in Jamaica and the UK,” said Swift Cash in a press release.
“However, by keeping the customers as priority, Swift Cash has been able to achieve significant growth over the years into Jamaica and have extended its market internationally to 22 other countries to include, Ghana, Brazil, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Poland, Gambia, Cameroon, Uganda, Morocco and Nigeria,” said the company statement.
Registered in the United Kingdom, Swift Cash began sending transfers in the year 2000 to Jamaica via fax with the primary method of distribution through the bank. Recognising the need for longer opening hours and greater flexibility, they sought to create a network of payout agents, appointing individual organisations across the island and also upgraded to software where the information was downloaded at the head office of their main agent in Jamaica and sent via fax to the sub-agents. Today, Swift Cash runs its remittance business through a web-base software and makes pay-outs via 54 efficient sub-agent locations islandwide.
Recognising the need to distinguish itself as a worthy contender, Swift Cash, on entering the market, agressively molded a customer-oriented culture at the company and, by doing this, has built lasting relationship with the customers. From the outset, the company created benefits in its service for customers in addition to very competitive fees and exchange rates. For most of their ten years, the company ran the super six promotion where customers were awarded a discount on their fees or a free transfer after every six transfer sent.
“Swift Cash Money Transfer with its by-line, ‘There when you need it most’ prides itself on; highly localised and friendly service, low cost service fees, customer loyalty reward schemes, contacting beneficiaries and having remittances available within minutes,” said the company.
“In reaching this decennial milestone Swift Cash Money Transfer recognises that its loyal customers, dedicated team, and its agents have played a momentous part in the growth and stability of the company and take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt thanks to all,” added the release.
