Purity Bakeries provides ‘dough’ to H’View FC
THE ‘Stars of the East’, Harbour View Football Club, struck two telling blows Wednesday evening at the Compound, first with a convincing 3-1 defeat of Portland flag-bearers St Georges Sports Club in a replayed Digicel Premier League feature.
This was closely followed by an announcement and symbolic cheque presentation by the Purity Consolidated Bakeries as the “official bakery” of the club to the value of $800,000 in cash and products for the next t hree years.
The presentation was made by CEO Vincent Chang and marketing officer Shawn Pinnock to club chairman Carvel Stewart.
In addition to the evening’s entertaining, 10 gift baskets were presented to lucky patrons as gate prizes. Also, the Most Valuable Player award was shared between St Georges captain Jermaine Taylor and Harbour View’s midfielder Jermaine Hue, who both received gift baskets.
During Harbour View’s March home games, a special Easter bun sales promotion will also be staged for the east Kingston community, as part of the commemoration of the club’s 36th anniversary.
