Cavalier almost there!
CAVALIER should be crowned Claro/KSAFA Super League champions following this afternoon’s final round of matches when they face Barbican at Barbican Complex, starting at 3:30 pm.
The league leaders hold a three-point advantage over nearest challenger, Santos, and could formalise the entire exercise with a draw.
Cavalier boast a plus 28 goal difference to Santos’ plus 14.
So solid is Cavalier’s situation that a defeat for them would require a massive victory for Santos to lift the trophy. If Cavalier were to lose 0-1, then Santos would require a 14-0 victory, while a 0-2 loss for Cavalier would result in Santos needing a 13-0 win to claim the title.
Apart from the trophy and attractive prize monies, a favourable result for the Lamar Hodges-coached side would also earn a place in the Digicel Premier League (DPL) play-offs.
Santos, meantime, go into their match against former contenders Rae Town at Bell/Chung Oval knowing it’s going to take nothing short of miracle for them to win
In other games on, Bull Bay host Duhaney Park at Bull Pen, JDF entertain Mountain View at Up Park Camp, Real Mona play relegated Meadhaven at Buttercup Park and Constant Spring take on the other demoted team, Maverley/Hughenden at Maverley Park.
All games start at 3:30 pm.
In the Major League, Rockfort play away to Whitfield Town at St Andrew Technical High (STATHS) and Central Kingston oppose Liguanea at Jamaica College, as both continue to fight for the top spot in the table.
In other matches, Swallowfield play Molynes at Breezy Castle, UWI host Cooreville at UWI Bowl and Police meet Brown’s Town at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex.
