Kes the Band for Mas Camp tomorrow
BACCHANAL Friday fans are in for an extra treat this week as popular Trinidad and Tobago soca group Kes the Band is set to blaze the Mas Camp stage with up-tempo calypso-inspired melodies.
Known for their fusion of rock riffs and island beats, with hints of soca and reggae, that has been dubbed Caribbean Pop, the Trinidadian band was formed in 2005 by brothers, Kees (lead vocals), Hans (drums) and Jon Dieffenthaller (guitar), and close friend Riad Boochoon (bass guitar).
The quartet is well known for delivering hits such as Right Dey, My Land and Till the Morning, among others. In five years, they have become one of the most popular and sought-after bands in Trinidad and Tobago and are also in high demand throughout the Caribbean, USA and Canada.
“The performance by Kes the Band during the Trinidad carnival 2010 festivities was out of this world and we know it will be the same on Friday,” said Michael Ammar of Bacchanal Jamaica.
Patrons can also expect in addition to Kes the Band, DJ Smoke from Renaissance, Sparkles Production and a guest DJ from Trinidad to whip them into a soca frenzy.
Gates open at 8:00 pm and the feting continues until 2:00 am.
