Fix the ills and repent
Dear Editor,
The education system needs fixing – there is severe overcrowding in schools yet we are talking about dismissing teachers. Create more classroom space and bring the ratio down to 25:1, 20:1, and 15:1.
We cry about the state of our nation’s children, yet we are reluctant to open our doors to them. We see them at bus stops, splash them when there is water on the road and we don’t offer them a lift when we are going in their direction. We say the church is not doing enough yet we won’t send our children to church or assist in church activities. We look to the church only for handouts and miracles.
Politics is dirty yet we frown at Christians who try to help clean it up and make it more acceptable. When in Opposition we oppose, but when in government we want consensus and dialogue. The mayor of Kingston’s security officer died from injuries suffered in an attack, which is severely regretted, yet higher-ups in some spheres are flown abroad for a medical check-up.
The police are here to serve and protect but some are selling guns and ammunition and joining criminal gangs. This is driving fear across the nation.
We need to look at our folly and repent.
