Reno, Seba in mouthwatering clash
FROME, Westmoreland — Joint leaders Reno FC and Seba United will meet in a mouthwatering clash at Frome Sports Grounds in the return round of the Captain’s Bakery Western Confederation Super League this afternoon.
Both teams, who are former champions and former Premier League winners, are separated by goal difference at the top of the points tables on 35 points — seven more than Frome FC and with the best defensive records.
Reno have conceded just two goals in 13 games, while Seba have conceded six, and today’s game could come down to who scores first.
The clash will be the third between both teams this season, the first ending 0-0 with Seba winning the mid-season final after scoring twice in the final five minutes for a come from behind 2-1 win.
Both teams are coming off 1-0 wins on Sunday and will be led by in-form strikers. Craig Foster has scored in the last three games for Reno and will join Martin Williams and Tremaine Perry.
Jeremy Bucknor, who scored both goals for Seba in the mid-season final, will be the point man for the MoBay team and will have DeShaun Woolery and Wilfred Smith as his attacking partners.
Frome, the most attacking team in the league with 35 goals, including 13 scored in one game in the first round, will travel to Petersfield and hope to repeat their 2-1 first round win over their neighbours.
Frome are coming off a 4-0 thrashing of Violet Kickers, while Petersfield were held 0-0 by relegation-threatened Wadadah at Jarrett Park.
Bamboo, who have a game in hand against Violet Kickers, will travel to face fellow Hanover side, last-placed Prosper, and should get another three points.
Former winners Granville, who lost their sixth game of the season on Sunday, will seek to rebound when they take on Violet Kickers in a St James ‘derby’ at the UDC field.
Violet Kickers have been in a tailspin since midway the first round and are hovering close to the drop zone, just three points ahead of Wadadah, who will be away to Exidos at the Bounty Hall Community Centre.
Tomorrow, Catherine Hall will host Mt Pelier at the UDC field.
Today’s schedule:

Reno vs Seba @ Frome Complex
Petersfield vs Frome @ Petersfield
