Lost points put pressure on Rae Town
RAE Town’s chances of capturing the Claro KSAFA Super League received a cruel blow after they were docked three points for using an ineligible player which puts them four points behind the leader with only two games remaining.
The KSAFA Competitions Committee ruled on Thursday that Rae Town used Orlando Walters in a game against Barbican on February 6, and he should have missed the game based on an accumulation of yellow cards. Barbican have been awarded that match 3-0.
Rae Town are now down to third on 39 points behind Cavalier with 43 and Santos on 41.
Cavalier, with a game in hand against Mountain View, can wrap up the title if they beat Real Mona and Santos, Rae Town and Mountain View all lose.
Cavalier lost to Duhaney Park last Saturday and the other title chasers are hoping Real Mona can pull off another surprise and keep them in the hunt going into the final week.
Rae Town, who were also fined $5,000 for receiving six yellow cards in one game, might not have the motivation right, but they to beat the JDF to keep their slim hopes alive at Breezy Castle.
Second-placed Santos seemed the most likely challenger to Cavalier and they, too, must beat Constant Spring at ‘Spring’ Complex.
In the other games, Duhaney Park take on Barbican at Baldwin Crescent, Mountain View go up against Bull Bay at Excelsior High school and Meadhaven meet Maverley/Hughenden in a match of the relegated teams at Michigan Oval.
