ICC rankings latest: still only Bangladesh worse than Windies
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – Predictably, there has been no change to West Indies’ position in the ICC Test Championship rankings, following the latest release on Thursday.
India have retained the top spot in the rankings after hammering South Africa by an innings and 58 runs on Thursday to snatch a draw in the two-Test home series.
They are four points ahead of South Africa with former number one side Australia in third on 116 points.
West Indies have continued to languish eighth in the rankings, only ahead of minnows Bangladesh.
Their attempts to make positive strides in the Test Championship were dashed late last year when they crashed to a 2-0 loss to Australia in the three-match series Down Under.
West Indies have one scheduled Test series this year, when South Africa tour the Caribbean this year from May 19 to June 30 for a three-Test series which includes five One-Day Internationals and two Twenty20 Internationals.
