Flexxing with: Mr Peppa
Although absent from dancehall’s front line for over two years Areal ‘Mr Peppa’ Walters is back on the scene with a new single that is taking the airwaves by storm.
The Equiknoxx-produced track Naah Do captures the essence of women’s independence and high achievements. Voiced on the Kamara Trick Rhythm Naah Do is definitely one of those songs that will have the ladies singing it’s lyrics. And has already generated good responses from people.
“Naah Do is one of the many songs that Mr Peppa is working on for 2010. when asked about his plans for the year,” Mr. Peppa said he was targeting the ladies, who have always been his main focus. This single is clearly a reflection of his goals as it is all about creating hype among the ladies.
The focused and ever easy artiste is also embarking on bigger plans for this year. Mr Pepper told TEENage that apart from being more visible he will also be launching his own label called Benjamin Black Music.
This is definitely a step forward after being absent from the scene. This absence, Mr Peppa says is as a result of his break away from the eight year long relationship with Natural bridge Records. Mr Peppa told TEENage why he left and what he was doing during the break.
“I believe it was mismanagement. I do not think they capitalised on my career as much as they should have. I was still recording though, testing different producers and re-inventing my style.”
Since the break up, Mr Peppa has been working with a number of record labels, the likes of music masterminds Ward 21, Fat Eye Records, Equiknoxx, and Tremor House among other record labels.
The video for Naah Do has already been shot, as part of a medley of songs that were featured on the Kamara Trick Rhythm. So be sure to look out for TEENage’s ‘On The Set’ next week.
The humble and driven artiste does not believe in becoming complacent in the business of dancehall and noted that he will always be working hard to secure a solid place in society as a musician.
