Bacchanal week 2: Burmese Sunset
Getting off to a ‘sold out’ start on opening night, Mas camp came alive last Friday for the second week of Bacchanal Jamaica’s Bacchanal Fridays. Continuing of course with the Bacchanal Treasures theme, last Friday, entitled Burmese Sunset (also the name of the Jamaica Observer sponsored costume) unveiled bits and pieces of the treasures to behold for the 2010 season.
As patrons continued to walk in after 10pm, the venue slowly became filled with soca lovers. Some patrons flocked to the dance floor for a spot as they heard their favourites, while others took a look at the different booths to see if they had anything new to offer.
Dj Omar C and Sparkles Productions did well in making the night come alive as they gave an onslaught of the good old favourites and a taste of soca hits for 2010. In between the music, patrons enjoyed giveaways from the various sponsors as well the bits and pieces of information about what to expect in the next few weeks.
With road march costumes almost finished, new music being unveiled, and the anticipation of soca lovers building; the season is only getting better! Remember to check out the Mas Camp for costumes and tickets, and to check your Daily Observer and visit the Bacchanal Jamaica website at www.bacchanaljamaica.com for updates and more details.
