Reno seek Confed win against Wadadah
FROME, Westmoreland — Leaders Reno FC should extend their advantage over idle Seba United today as the Captain’s Bakery Western Confederation Super League’s second round resumes with five games.
Mid-season champions Seba’s game against Exidos has been pushed back to Tuesday at the Bounty Hall Community Centre.
Reno, who were beaten 1-2 by Seba in Sunday’s mid-season final, still lead the points tables on goal difference over Seba, but should win today against the two time defending champions Wadadah.
Despite the loss to Seba, Reno is still the team with the best defensive record, having conceded just two goals in 11 games, and should have the better of Wadadah, who have conceded 29 goals.
Third-placed Frome, who are coming off a massive 13-2 strapping of Prosper in their previous game, will take on an inconsistent Catherine Hall at Herbert Morrison in a game that could be the most competitive of the round.
The teams played to a 1-1 draw in the first round and as two of the teams that will be chasing a semi-final place, will begin their push for points.
Frome are on 24 points, while Granville are on 18 points.
Fourth-placed Bamboo (21 points) will be seeking a fourth straight win over an inconsistent Violet Kickers at the UDC field, while former champions Granville travel to Lucea to face Prosper, whom they beat 5-1 in the first round.
Today’s schedule:
Prosper vs Granville @ Rusea’s
Reno vs Wadadah @ Frome
Petersfield vs Mt Pelier @ Petersfield
Catherine Hall vs Frome @ Herbert Morrison
Violet Kickers vs Bamboo @ UDC.
