Police release sketch of serial rapist
THE St Ann police have released a composite sketch of a man who they believe has raped several women in the parish.
According to the police, the suspect is also wanted for rapes committed in St Mary, Clarendon and St James.
The man has been on the prowl since last August, and the police say he has raped and assaulted at least 14 women in St Ann. Several of these offences were committed between last year August and September.
Sketches of the suspect have been posted at several public places in all major towns across the parish.
According to the police, the suspect is known to frequent Discovery Bay, Runaway Bay, St Ann’s Bay and Ocho Rios — all areas where the majority of the reported cases of rape occurred.
Police say the suspect, who is armed and dangerous, is of “light brown complexion, slim build and has a large mouth with red, thick lips”.
The police say the man has physically harmed some of his victims, and that he sometimes poses as a taxi operator and targets mostly petite women in their early to mid-20s.
Persons with information on the suspect are being asked to call the St Ann Centre for Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) unit at 972-2373 or the nearest police station.
