W’house stop Boys’ Town for berth in U-21 final
WATERHOUSE consolidated their place in the second End-of-Round final in the JFF Under-21 League with a 2-1 win over Boys’ Town at Drewsland on Friday.
Andre Clennon scored both goals with headers in the 12th and 74th minutes to secure victory for Waterhouse, while Kemar Campbell replied in the 89th minute for Boys’ Town.
It was the first time the team was reaching the End-of-Round final since the inception of the competition and they follow in the footsteps of the senior team by qualifying for the final in the second round.
Coach Anthony Patrick was pleased with the overall performance of the team that played unbeaten in the round and amassed 25 points.
“I feel overwhelmed,” Patrick declared at the end of the game.
“It was hard work all season and it only goes to show that conscious effort pays off in the end.
“We played well in the first round but made some mistakes along the way. In the second round we worked harder and tried to correct earlier mistakes and got it right and played 13 games unbeaten to consolidate our efforts,” Patrick said.
