Milk River still atop Clarendon Major League
NEW BOWENS, Clarendon — Milk River United maintained their unblemished record in the Clarendon Football Association’s Captain’s Bakery Major League with a 2-0 win over Sunnyside Side FC at Rest Primary last Wednesday to go two points clear at the top.
Jemeal Forrester, with his fifth goal of the campaign (seventh minute) and Gregory Williams (66th) found the net for Milk River, who still have a game in hand.
Also on Wednesday, York Town recorded win number two of the season when they downed Sanguinetti FC, 2-1, at York Town Community Centre.
Dwayne Sinclair (19th) and Omar White (26th) scored first-half goals to push York Town three places up to third with seven points — the same as Rock River and Longwood.
In other mid-week games, Mashario Manradge scored in the 17th minute for Rock River FC to edge Longwood 1-0 for their second defeat of the season.
At Gimme-mi-bit on Tuesday, the home team won for the first time, stopping Gayle FC 3-1 and inching to eighth place on four points.
Meanwhile, at New Bowens on Thursday, Maxwell Patrick (18th, 36th and 58th) grabbed a hat-trick as New Bowens recovered from last week’s 0-4 defeat to Milk River to beat Young Strikers, 4-2.
Leon Callahang got New Bowens other goal in the 52nd, while Dermaine Bhoorasighn (25th) and Leon Williams (39th) scored for Young Strikers.
New Bowens maintained their second-placed status with 10 points, while the defeat was Young Strikers’ third of the season — the only team still without a point in the league.
