Keep Air J
Dear Editor,
I agree 100 per cent with Howard Hamilton in his letter yesterday to sell the workers Air Jamaica. The government should do everything possible to keep the Lovebird in Jamaican hands.
Air Jamaica has been more than a symbol. It is a symbol of national pride holding a place quite close to our national flag. Over the many years that I have flown with Air Jamaica, my comfort level was greater than that which I felt with any other airline. Hearing our Jamaican voices from the crew, seeing the videos about Jamaica and the beautiful scenes were more than entertainment. They were welcome signs.
As for the IMF, many people are against it.
The Jamaican government should try to redeem itself by following Howard Hamilton’s suggestion. If our government continues on this divestment path it will only intensify its complicity in a disgusting display of unpatriotic actions.
