Häagen-Dazs’ ‘Sweet’ New Menu
The colourful visuals of the new Häagen-Dazs menu are in themselves a treat, stirring the senses to indulge in creamy sweetness long before a scoop is released on the palate.
The redesigned menu, released just a month ago at the ice cream parlour located in the Barbican Shopping Centre, offers a cornucopia of sweet delights categorised for convenience and presentation. Simply put, there’s something for everyone… whether it’s seductive chocolate, oh-so-smooth caramel, crunchy cookie-laden offerings, an assortment of dessert cocktails or delectable cakes.
Smile in place, store manager Kerry-Ann Richards beams as she pauses from her regular Monday afternoon inventory assessments to share with Thursday Food.
“The reception to the new menu has been great,” Richards says, “the visuals are a lot stronger, so people can have an idea of what their dessert will look like ahead of being served.”
This, she adds, has allowed patrons to be more expressive with their choices of flavours and pairings since the new menu allows for greater flexibility.
“Customers are now going beyond just ordering a scoop, and are instead mixing and matching items to suit their tastes,” Richards tells Thursday Food.
And if ‘suiting their taste’ means tucking into any combination of the more than two dozen flavours on display, then all should leave the parlour completely satiated.
The indulgence is all the more worth it when we dip into the Caramel Toffee Brownie – a wonderful square of decadent chocolate-chocolate chip brownie, Caramel Biscuit and Crème and Dulce de Leche flavours drizzled with warm caramel sauce and whipped cream.
There is, too, the seductive Red Dream – frosty raspberry sorbet, freshly blended strawberries and cream, sparkling lemonade and crushed ice – that on seeing its layers of pink and red, one easily conjures up images of sharing a tall glass with one’s Valentine.
Other fruit-based options include the Passion Cone with generous scoops of passion fruit and raspberry sorbet served with delicious fruit coulis and whipped cream on a waffle cone.
The tropical allure continues with the more adult sorbet cocktails, seven of which are outlined on the new menu.
Cake lovers will find sweet comfort in luffy morsels of cheesecake of which there are a variety as well as the chocolate fudge. Those with a taste for coffee will also enjoy the Tiramisu Espresso among other flavours that employ the aromatic bean.
“What’s really great about this menu is that it gives choices at great prices,” shares Richards. A one-scoop sugar cone retails for $285, while the waffle cone equivalent sells for $305. The classic selection creations range from $685 to $860.
Häagen-Dazs opens daily from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm and Richards encourages anyone to pop in.
“Come, see our new menu and it will taste as good as it looks on paper,” she laughs.
