Hot Couples
Tami & Wayne
This must be entertainment’s Couple of the Year. This relationship started out on a purely profesional level as the two collaborated on a series of relationship-based tunes. This, naturally, fuelled speculation. At first they denied a relationship, but then they could keep it a secret no longer and last September Tami and Wayne made it official and became man and wife.
Asafa & Yendi
He is the world-class athlete with Olympic and World Championship gold medals; she is the beauty queen turned television host. After trying to keep the relationship under wraps for some time it is clear that things are heating up for these two. At Asafa’s Charity concert late last year, they were snapped just gazing into each other’s eyes.
Lady Saw and John John
He’s as soft spoken as she is raunchy, but they say opposites attract and the magnetism between these two is electric. This hot dancehall couple can now be considered “married people”. It’s just the ring that’s missing, and who knows, these two could have slipped away to the country and said their “I dos” very quietly.
Nitty Kutchie & Deelishus
Former Scare Dem Crew member Nitty Kutchie seems to have his hands and lips locked on a delicious treat. He has taken onto himself the tempting dancehall act Deelishus, and the two seem to be closer than ever these days.
Spice & Nicholas
Coming out of 2008, one would have thought that female deejay — Spice — whose real name is Grace Hamilton –would have been Mrs Nicholas Lall by now. The wedding is still in the works, we gather, as Spice, in a recent interview, noted that no date has been set but, “who knows it could be 2010”, she quipped. In the meantime, they continue to look after their young son.
Empress & Stephen Golding
Word on the street is that this on-again-off-again relationship is on again as we enter 2010. ‘Young Bangarang’, as he is affectionately called in some circles, and the effervescent Empress Mullings have been seen doing the rounds lately. On Boxing Day they were chaperoned by Stephen’s mother, Lorna Golding, to the 2009 staging of the greatest one-night Dancehall show, Sting.
Mr Vegas & Shelly
Entertainers seem to have the same taste in women. Mr Lexx’s estranged wife has found love in the arms of a very busy deejay; we all know about the fearsome threesome — D’Angel, Bounty and Beenie — and then of course there is Rosie who has the male entertainers by their cajones. This leads to the latest love in Vegas’ life, Shelly. The former girlfriend and babymother of Mr G (Goofy) is now Vegas’ leading lady.
Raine & Bugle
It’s called ‘love at first Daseca’. The Daseca production house has sparked the flames of love between stablemates deejay Bugle and first lady Raine Seville.
Foota & Ishawna
What is that we hear about the Gully interfering in this love nest? Anyway, she is the young dancehall act who can be considered a double threat as she sings and deejays equally well. Of course he is the popular selector. And together they have been making good soup, babies and all.
