Heineken To Unveil First Igloo Bar At Jazz Fest 2010
The world’s premium beer and the official beer of the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival 2010 will erect and showcase an inflatable igloo bar at the event commencing today Thursday, January 28 – Saturday January 30. The bar, the very first of its kind in Jamaica, will be a magnificent and eye-catching structure at the venue for the duration of the festival.
According to Frederique Asberg, country manager for Heineken, the brand will be adding some very special elements to the festival to make it even more enjoyable and memorable.
“We will be erecting an igloo, similar to the Arctic ice structures, on the grounds. The Igloo will be quite imposing at 25 by 25 feet, no doubt this will be a conversation piece for the festival,” Asberg said.
“Anything you can picture about an Igloo, we’re going to recreate at the festival. From the ice to the snow and cold, Heineken will replicate it at Greenfields. This is a fun way to enjoy the festival with friends and family. The Igloo is open to all patrons,” she added.
Once inside patrons will enjoy an extra cold experience complete with an ice bar, ice cups, and unmatched ice décor.
Over a year ago, Heineken introduced Heineken Sub Zero beer to Jamaica. It was the first of its kind not only in Jamaica but also in this hemisphere. The jazz fest will not be left out, it was revealed.
“In addition to our plans to create a showpiece at the venue, we will be offering Heineken Extra Cold Draught beer at the event, another special touch for jazz lovers. To enjoy the Extra Cold Heineken Draught patrons will have to purchase three Heineken cans at the regular bar where they will be issued a Heineken crown embedded in an ice cube. In addition to the Extra Cold Draught beer, this cube gives patrons immediate access to all the Heineken memorabilia including Extra Cold Heineken hats for the taking,” she went on to say.
For 2010, music lovers are in for a wonderful treat as plans are fully underway for another successful production.
This year the festival has joined with its sponsors to bring a star-studded line-up including Gladys Knight, Babyface, Joss Stone, Hall & Oates, Jon Secada, Maxi Priest, Billy Ocean, The Queen Project, The Whispers and many more.
“The Jamaica Jazz festival is very important to the continued visibility and success of brand Jamaica. We realise that through our sponsorship the country will benefit from one of the best jazz festivals yet,” Asberg ended.
