G-Blenda in the mix
Former Student of Garvey Maceo High, 20-year-old Everton Smith, aka G-Blenda, is young and has great music plans. He is very enthused about making a difference, and will try to do so by adding his positive contribution to the music industry.
He is currently pursuing an accounting course at the Stony Hill Heart Academy. It is evident, that with God as his guide and his mom as his role model, G-Blenda is destined for great things in life, especially in the music industry.
TEENage took some time to sit with the young artiste to find out more about him and his music.
TEENage: What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
G-Blenda: I was born with this talent, but decided to take it on seriously when I noticed the need for better music.
TEENage: How would you describe your style as deejay/singer?
G-Blenda: I would describe my style as very creative and stylistic.
TEENage: What musical influences have shaped the type songs you write?
G-Blenda: My writing style has been strongly influnenced by artistes like Garnet Silk, Beres Hammond and Freddie Mcgregor, who brought a positive vibe to the music industry.
TEENage: What has your musical journey been like so far?
G-Blenda: Basically, as a young artiste it as been a rough journey, but I continue to pray for guidance and hope that I will be blessed with more positive outcomes.
TEENage: What other ventures are you undertaking now apart from music?
G-Blenda: Otherwise, from music I am currently pursing a career in accounting.
TEENage: Does your interest have an impact on your school life and how?
G-Blenda: Well, it’s hard balancing my many assignments against rehersals, but I love the music so I just have to do it.
TEENage:Are there any particular artistes/producers you would like to work with and why?
G-Blenda: Definitely, Stephen ‘Di Genious’ and Kemar from Big Ship because they are good at what they do, plus they have some mad riddims.
TEENage: As an upcoming artist what are some of the challenges you face?
G-Blenda: No lie, the biggest challenge I face is being called for a show, then not getting the chance to perform because of popular artistes.
TEENage: What are your plans for the future?
G-Blenda: (Laughs) I plan to have numerious hits and go on many tours.

G-Blenda: Mhmm… my music is catchy, meaningful and truthful.
