Starbucks giving US$1m to Haiti efforts
NEW YORK, United States – STARBUCKS said yesterday its Starbucks Foundation will donate US$1 million for Haiti relief and recovery efforts following the devastating earthquake.
Also, Starbucks said stores in the US and Canada will allow customers to make donations at store registers, with no purchase necessary, to benefit the American and Canadian Red Cross organisations for a limited time.
People are still being pulled from the rubble of a magnitude-7 earthquake that struck the Caribbean island one week ago.
