Cornwall hammer Rhodes Hall 121-26
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Defending champions Cornwall College secured the number one spot entering the semi-finals of the ISSA/KFC Western Conference basketball competition by hammering Rhodes Hall, 121-26, at the MoBay Cricket Club on Monday.
The win was Cornwall’s ninth in a row as they improved to 18 points and cannot be overtaken. Despite their third straight loss, Rhodes Hall are still in with a chance of making the top four.
William Knibb are the other semi-finalists with 15 points from nine games, while Herbert Morrison and Muschett are also in the running.
Meanwhile, Cornwall joined unbeaten Herbert Morrison at the top of the Under-19 tables after Spot Valley failed to show up for their game on Monday.
Cornwall and Herbert Morrison are on 16 points and will be joined by Mannings in the semi-finals, while Muschett and William Knibb will tussle for the other spot.
Five Cornwall players notched double figures, led by Tevin Brown’s 29 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Romaine Hinds scored 24 points and had 12 rebounds; Shane Graham scored 15 points; Junior Chinnock and Alex McFarlane had 14 each and Robert McIntosh had 10 rebounds and 11 assists.
The league continues today with Herbert Morrison vs Muschett in Montego Bay in an Under-19 game, and Rhodes Hall vs William Knibb in an Under-16 encounter.
