Knights are UTech Cricket Classic champs

Scores in the game: Mico 112-6 off their 20 overs and UTech Knights 113-3 in 17.1 overs.
UTech Knights won the toss and invited Mico to bat in a game which started an hour late due to wet spots on the pitch.
Opener Zeniffe Fowler had to retire hurt early in the innings with just four runs on the board, after aggravating an injured finger. He returned later to post the highest score of 34 with three fours and a six. Support came from Shacoya Thomas, who made 30. No other player got into double figures, though there were 21 extras. Boris Hutchinson with two for 11 and Oniel Wright, two for 30, were the main wicket takers.
UTech Knights started strongly, losing their first wicket at 50 in the seventh over. Top scorer was Jeffrey Scott with 28, while John Ross Campbell got 15, Oniel Wright, 13, and Brian Clarke, 13, gave support in the runs department. The wickets went to Marlon Johnson (2-23) in four overs and Ricardo Ennis (1-15), also in four overs. The Mico bowlers had to battle the strong wind which resulted in 29 extras to UTech Knights.
The awards function which followed saw most wickets going to Ulric Batson and Darzo Vaughan, both of UWI Cave Hill getting six wickets each.
Most runs went Sheldon Powell, of GC Foster, who compiled 82.
The man of the match of the final went to Boris Johnson for taking two for 12 in three overs.
The champion trophy — the Lyndel Wright Trophy — was presented by Andre Reid of the Jamaica Observer, while Professor Errol Morrison presented the runner-up trophy to Mico.
