Flexxing with Sean Kingston
Jamerican Kisean Anderson more popularly known as Sean Kingston, headlined the Coca cola Coke Zero concert in Kingston this past weekend. TEENage did a bit of catching up with the star who was seemingly psyched backstage about his Kingston debut, just moments before he took the stage. His latest and second studio album entitled Tomorrow was released in September of last year and has been doing pretty well. “So far we have sold over 300,000 copies,” said Sean, whose facial expression showed that he was quite pleased by this.
Of the thirteen tracks on the album, he considers Fire Burning as his favourite. Fire Burning was nominated in the Teen Choice Awards and won Choice Summer Song of 2009. For 20-10 however the artiste is looking to bigger better things, “My New Year’s Resolution is to get a Grammy.” High hopes from a considerably young artiste, turning only 20 years old in February, yet with all the work Sean has been doing of late, such aspiration is not so far out of sight.
Sean created his own recording label called Time is Money Entertainment in 2007. He recently signed British Virgin Islander, singer Iyaz and wrote his popular single Replay which peaked at #1 on the Billboard Pop Chart and the UK Singles Chart. Sean also wrote Jason DeRulo’s Whatchya Say which also peaked at #1 in US, the UK and several other countries.
Singer, songwriter and C.E.O, Sean Kingston has come a long way from Beautiful Girls in 2007 when we were first introduced to the youngster. He is currently working with artiste like Rihanna, Beenie Man and Akon, and heartens his fans to look out for the many projects he is working on for 2010. A tour is also in the works with Sean Paul and Shaggy for this year.
The proceeds of his Coca Cola Coke Zero concert were in aid of the Haitians who suffered the wrath of a 7.2 earthquake that tremendously damaged the country. Many lives were lost and the country is beyond destitute. Kingston stated that “I’m very happy to be a part of such a good cause, the Haitians need it and I will try to help in any way I can. I would encourage anyone who can help to go out do the same.”
