Cop dies in highway crash
POLICE constable Ricardo Morrison, 24, of the Mobile Reserve Division, was yesterday morning killed in a motor vehicle crash along the Portmore leg of Highway 2000.
“I was travelling to work and I saw the vehicle when it crashed and overturned,” said Luke Rankine, who along with other people assisted in removing the policeman from his wrecked Honda Civic motor car.
“We [passengers in the bus] were passing and we tried to help. I followed him [the cop] all the way to the hospital where he drew his last breath,” Rankine said.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) reported that the policeman was driving towards Portmore when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed. He was pronounced dead at hospital.
