St Jago, Knox take volleyball Classics
ST Jago High School retained their boys crown; however, the Spanish Town-based school failed to reclaim the female title at the annual Knox Six-A-Side Volleyball Classics which went to the host school, at the school’s courts last Saturday.
St Jago, led by tournament MVP and best hitter Ryck Webb, dominated their final against Muschette to win in straight sets, 11-6, 11-4.
Knox were equally impressive in the female final against Old Harbour High of St Catherine, winning 11-8, 11-6 for a straight sets victory as well.
Shantel Gray of the host school was the MVP for the girls’ competition.
The tournament, which is in its second year, was considered a great success, with some 21 schools participating in the event — a big improvement from the inaugural hosting of the event last year.
