Seba seek Super League lead vs Bamboo
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Seba United could go to the top of the points standings in the Captain’s Bakery Western Confederation Super League today with at least a point against Bamboo FC in a rescheduled first- round game at Jarrett Park, starting at 5:00 pm.
Seba, who are tied on 20 points with Reno, will be seeking a second win in four days after beating Frome FC 4-1 at Frome in Sunday’s rain-interrupted ninth round of matches.
In another game set for today, Mt Pelier FC, fresh off their 3-1 win over defending champions Wadadah, will travel to the Bounty Hall Community Centre to face Exidos, starting at 3:00 pm.
At Jarrett Park, Bamboo will be seeking their first win since late November when they won their fourth straight game, but have never beaten Seba United.
In two games played between the teams last year Bamboo managed a single point and Seba will be on a high after Sunday’s win.
On Sunday, Kemar James scored twice as all four goals came in the second half in a come-from-behind win.
Damion Ferguson gave Frome the lead after 10 minutes, but James scored in the 50th and 60th to give his team the lead, while Wilfred Smith in the 68th and Fabian McCarthy in the 75th finished off the scoring for Seba.
At the Mt Pelier Community Centre, the home team won for only the second time and moved into seventh place on nine points, condemning Wadadah to an eighth loss in nine games while conceding a league-high 25 goals in nine games.
Meanwhile, the other games that were not played on Sunday due to the heavy rains that lashed the western end of the island have been rescheduled for next Wednesday.
